Louis Milne
Clarinet
Born in Glasgow, Scotland, Louis did not begin playing the clarinet until he moved across the globe to San Diego at the age of 10. Music was the one thing that allowed him to find a community in his new home. Taking clarinet through his childhood and into college, it only made sense to combine his love for music with his drive to pursue an orchestral career.
Louis Milne is now a well-connected and accomplished clarinetist based in Southern California. He is a versatile musician pursuing a career in performance alongside a career in music education, teaching at his own private studio. Louis has performed regularly with various professional ensembles including the Los Angeles Philharmonic, Kansas City Symphony, San Diego Symphony, and the Long Beach Symphony. He performs as Principal Clarinet with the Opera Neo company in San Diego during the summer season. Louis has also performed orchestral/chamber performances with musicians from the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra, Houston Symphony, New York Philharmonic, Cleveland Orchestra, Cincinnati Symphony, and Los Angeles Philharmonic.
He is currently pursuing a Performance Certificate at the University of Southern California under the pedagogy of Maestro Yehuda Gilad. Louis previously completed his undergraduate studies at the Northwestern Bienen School of Music in Evanston, Illinois. Milne’s prior teachers include Steven Cohen, Mark Nuccio, Stephen Williamson, and Todd Levy.
Additional to music, he loves to surf, bake vegan deserts, and paint.
