Simon Gregory Bakos

Simon Gregory Bakos, from Mason, Ohio, is currently pursuing graduate studies at the University of Southern California studying with Yehuda Gilad. He earned his bachelor’s degree from the Curtis Institute of Music in 2025, where he studied with Anthony McGill and YaoGuang Zhai. He previously held the position of Second Clarinet with Symphony in C in Camden, New Jersey. He is a member of the 2026 Schleswig-Holstein Festival Orchestra.
Previous festival appearances include the Schostakowitsch Festival Leipzig, two years as a Tanglewood Fellow, and one year as a Fellow at Music Academy of the West. He has appeared with the New York Philharmonic, Opera Philadelphia, and the Royal Philharmonic.
